Wong Kean Yik, an owner of Sun Yi Telecommunication Trading was charged with eight charges over his failure to submit the GST statements for the period of May 2015 until December 2015 under s 41(1) of the GST Act 2014. He pleaded guilty to all charges. All offences fell under s 41(6) of the same Act and are punishable with a fine not exceeding RM50,000 for each charge or imprisonment of up to three years, or both, for each count.
