The Treasury Secretary-General said that the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) is studying a mechanism to tax multinational companies that conduct digital or online businesses in respect of the revenue earned in Malaysia. He cited Uber as an example.

The IRB expects to collect a total of RM127b in taxes in 2017.
